Yup, I live. I went a month (A WHOLE BLOODY MONTH) without internet access and it was really not something I want to repeat again. Strange how we become accustomed to such things, and how badly we miss them when they aren't at our disposal.

Our new house is coming along nicely, though it's still a partial construction zone in many ways. Weekends are filled with painting/demolishing/cleaning/unpacking/complaining about what we wish we could afford to do right now but won't be able to for a few months. Every time I've whined of not having enough free time in the past pales in comparison to now, and I kind of miss my "carefree" days when all I had to worry about was four kids, dishes, laundry and the occasional foray into cooking. The most mentionable on my list of WTF moments is probably the dead rat in the spa (husband made me fish it out because he's a freaking sissy). So far, no sightings of any living relatives of the little drowned bugger. I guess that's something to be thankful for.

Since I'm sure I'll forget/have forgotten, Happy Holidays to everyone! I am not a holiday person (I wallow from October to January, thank you very much, and I have no intention of ever doing otherwise), and I cannot wait for the season to be over. But, I acknowledge that other people do (for whatever crazy reason) enjoy this time of year...so good for you. At least my kids are having a good time. Here's hoping you all get everything you ask for, and don't make resolutions! They're bad for you.
